هداية النحو

Hidāyat al-Naḥw

Intermediate Planned

The second grammar, taken after al-Ājurrūmiyya. It covers the same ground in far more detail and introduces the disagreements between grammarians.

The text

Public domain, no copy we can vouch for yet

Commonly attributed to Athīr al-Dīn al-Abharī, but that attribution does not hold up — the works reliably credited to him are in logic and philosophy, not grammar, and the digitised copies name no author. We are not printing an attribution we cannot support.

In English — ours

Not yet. We translate rather than reprint, so the English for this book begins the day its first lesson is taught.

We link rather than mirror. The classical texts are out of copyright, but the modern printed editions of them are not, so we point you at a library that already carries one instead of putting somebody else’s edition on our server. What we do host is our own work.

Lessons

Not written yet. This book is on the map so you can see where it sits in the course, not because it is ready to study here.
