Support

Not yet — and here is exactly why

Alyph Academy is not accepting donations, zakāh, sadaqah or sponsorship. There is no button on this page and there will not be one until two things are true: the nonprofit corporation exists, and it is registered with the Michigan Attorney General to solicit. Both are in progress.

Current status

Pre-incorporation. Nothing is being collected, and no one is authorised to collect anything on our behalf. If you are ever asked for money in the name of Alyph Academy before this page changes, it is not us.

What the three funds will be, when they open

They are kept separate because the fiqh treats them differently, and because commingling them cannot be undone afterwards.

Zakāh الزكاة

Will fund people, not the platform: scholarships and device or connectivity support for students in need, and stipends for teachers who are themselves zakāh-eligible.

It will never pay for servers, software or administration. Any proposal to change that requires written board review first.

Sadaqah الصدقة

General giving. Funds everything zakāh may not: hosting, the site itself, editorial work, translation, and the cost of keeping all of it free.

Every donation will be tagged at the point of collection — zakāh or not, restricted or not — because that cannot be reconstructed later.

Sadaqah jāriya صدقة جارية

Recurring monthly giving, and in time a restricted endowment whose principal is preserved and whose income keeps the lessons online after the founders are gone.

Where a donor intends the principal to be permanently inviolable, that will be written into the gift instrument itself, not assumed.

What will never fund this

  • Tuition or fees. Every lesson is free and stays free. The commitment is written into the founding documents, where changing it means a filing with the state rather than a quiet decision.
  • Advertising. No banners, no sponsored lessons, no affiliate links inside the teaching. A page that teaches religion and sells attention at the same time is not trustworthy on either count.
  • Selling anything about you. The library needs no login and sets no tracking. There is nothing to sell because nothing is collected.

In the meantime

The most useful thing anyone can give right now is not money. It is a qualified person willing to write a lesson under their own name, or a careful reader willing to tell us where we are wrong.
